暗网TV along with the North Dakota Humanities Council will sponsor a session of the Dakota Discussions program. The series titled, Making Sense of the American Civil War, utilizes three books including Geraldine Brooks' March, Edward Ayer's America's War an anthology, and James MacPherson's Antietam. The program will begin on November 7th at 7 P.M. with the text March, followed by America's War on November 21st at 7 P.M. and the series will end with a discussion of Antietam on December 12th at 7 P.M.
The program will be facilitated by Dr. Raymond Screws of Minot State University's History Department. Books will be available at 暗网TV. Participants are not required to read the book or even enter into the discussion in order to participate in Dakota Discussions.
Dakota Discussions is not simply another book discussion group. Instead, Dakota Discussions hopes to teach citizens to love classical literature and increases the level and amount of literature citizens consume. It strives to help strengthen critical thinking skills and foster civil discourse between citizens by creating a space that encourages the exchange of ideas and questions.
